Once you decide that I could be someone you want to work with, get in touch and I will arrange a brief chat before we decide to go ahead with counselling. This won’t cost you anything; it is an assessment to see if we can work together. During this chat, I will take some details from you, such as contact, GP info and how you are feeling. All this information is stored securely and is not shared with anyone else. We’ll be able to chat as we go through things so you can ask questions and decide about proceeding. Further information on the assessment can be found here so you know what to expect.
After the assessment, I will email you the contract—the terms and conditions of our work—which we will both sign and have a copy of.
As our work is online, you will need technology for us to work together: a device with a camera and microphone (desktop, laptop, tablet, phone, etc) and an internet connection. From my end, I work in a self-contained space with headphones, so nobody can hear what you are saying to me. Please ensure you are in a space where you can talk openly and with the privacy you need. I will email you a link to our session before the session, which you can open, and it will take you to the room. There will be a waiting area from which I can let people in, so nobody will join the meeting apart from us. Your privacy and security are of utmost importance to me, and I have taken all necessary measures to ensure the confidentiality of our sessions.
